Finding Strength in Tough Times: A Comprehensive Guide To Emotional Wellness “The Weight Of The Wait” Edition

Life can be tough sometimes. We all face challenges that can make us feel beat down and overwhelmed. But remember, it's not the tough times that define us—it's how we handle and respond to them.

I know first hand what it feels like to battle pain in silence.  When you feel like you have no one you can trust, or when family and friends turn their backs on you.  During those hard times is what made my relationship with Jesus Christ stronger.

I believed in Jesus as a child, and I grew up in church, somehow I ended up getting trapped in worldly things and choices.  If you know any better than you know God is a jealous God and when He wants to get your attention He will get your attention.

The IM VEE TV community is here to help you find the strength within yourself to overcome any obstacle, with Christ as our source of strength. Remember this empowering Bible verse Phillipians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me"

Here’s a simple guide to help you get through hard times.

1. Admit You’re Struggling

The first step to getting through a tough time is to admit that you’re struggling. It’s okay to feel sad, angry, or frustrated. These feelings are normal and part of the process. Don’t bottle them up. Let yourself feel and express them. Remember, even Jesus wept (John 11:35).

2. Stay Positive

While it's important to acknowledge your struggles, try to stay positive. Look for the good in every situation, even if it’s hard to find. Remember, every setback can teach you something valuable. By focusing on the positive, you can turn challenges into opportunities to grow. Philippians 4:8 reminds us to focus on whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable.

3. Reach Out for Support

You don’t have to go through hard times alone. Reach out to family, friends, or anyone you trust. Talking about what you’re going through can make a big difference. Sometimes just knowing someone cares can lighten your load. Galatians 6:2 says, "Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ."

4. Find Healthy Ways to Cope

When things get tough, find healthy ways to cope. Exercise, meditate, write in a journal, or read a good book. At IM VEE TV connected with Octopus Ink828, we offer books designed to help you feel better and find strength in the lonely times.

Find what works for you and make it a part of your routine. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 reminds us to honor God with our bodies.

5. Set Small Goals

Big problems can feel overwhelming. Break them down into small, manageable steps. Set small goals and celebrate when you achieve them. Each small win will build your confidence and keep you moving forward. Proverbs 16:9 tells us, "In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps."

6. Accept Change

Change is often a part of overcoming hard times. It can be scary, but it can also be good. Be open to change and see it as a chance to grow and improve. Trust yourself to adapt and thrive in new situations. Isaiah 43:19 says, "See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland."

7. Practice Gratitude

Gratitude can change your outlook on life. Take a moment each day to think about what you’re thankful for. It can be something small, like a sunny day or a kind word from a friend. Focusing on the good things can boost your mood and help you stay positive. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 encourages us to "give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."

8. Keep Moving Forward

No matter how tough things get, don’t give up. Keep moving forward, even if it’s just a small step at a time. Progress might be slow, but every step counts. Believe in yourself and your ability to overcome challenges. Philippians 4:13 reminds us, "I can do all this through him who gives me strength."

Hard times are a part of life, but they don’t have to control your life. By staying positive, reaching out for support, and finding healthy ways to cope, you can get through anything. We’re here to support you with resources and encouragement. Together, with Christ as our source of strength, we can turn tough times into triumphs and build a brighter future.
